The GDEcD Seeks Candidates For Multimedia Specialist Position

recruiting for the following position:
Multimedia Specialist
Entry Salary: Upper 40′s to low-50′s, depending on qualifications
The Film, Video & Music Division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development is responsible for promoting Georgia as an entertainment industry destination by increasing the awareness of Georgia’s multimedia business opportunities, resources and infrastructure through the building of relationships between GDEcD staff and prospective global clients.
The Multimedia Specialist will function as a project manager to identify and create opportunities to promote the Multimedia industry (to include video gaming, Internet, interactive media, content delivered to mobile devices, etc.) within the state of Georgia through business development activities, networking, prospecting and leveraging the human and capital resources of the GDEcD and the Georgia Film, Video, Music and Multimedia division.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Interactive Media, Video Gaming or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of professional experience in a commercial or institutional interactive media or video gaming organization.
- Awareness and knowledge of online and offline video gaming, Internet entertainment products, streaming video, Web site development, social media sites, user generated content, video sharing, CD-Rom, DVD, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and business development skills. Must be self-motivated with strong desire to succeed.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking skills and professional appearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of professional experience in a commercial or institutional interactive media or video gaming organization.
- Multimedia subject matter expert with existing contacts within the industry.
- Production or post-production experience in multimedia or traditional entertainment media.
Nights and weekend work as required for meetings and events. Also, some travel required. Primarily local/state, for meetings and events. Occasional domestic and international travel.
